This weekend is the annual “Go For The Gold” regatta on the lake, and Janis and I are volunteering for the yacht club. Under normal circumstances this would be somewhat stressful – however, this weekend is the last weekend before we set out for the British Virgin Islands! We fly out Tuesday, and should be aboard by Wednesday. So the chaos and stress are creating “the storm before the calm”.

Exciting stuff, to be sure. I am completing my open water scuba certification when we arrive, and we hope to dive on the HMS Rhone, a spectacular penetration wreck dive at 80-100 feet. Add to that the prospect of a local rum cocktail named the “Painkiller”, deep fried conch fritters and the opportunity to learn how to surf, and you’ve got one epic trip! Follow along here:
